Simple....unbolt the 4 bolts holding it to pulley and remove with fan blades still attached- then on bench unbolt fan from clutch and swap with new clutch.....entire process is 10-15 minute job performed from topside EASY

Those bolts aren't the easiest to get off/on. Nuts, not bolts, aren't they?

Yes
Thanks Paul, but I was referring to their location and not condition. Behind the fan blades and tight spot, if you're using a traditional small 10mm box wrench you'll scratch your hands up. No room for a ratchet, use the longest 10mm you can find. These nuts are never corroded.

I had no problem doing mine a few years ago during the cold winter using a simple 10mm wrench- take one off, spin the fan 90 degrees with your hand to get the next one, and so on- 10-15 min max with no cuts or scrapes

HERE is my original thread from 2005 when I did the job zerothread?id=102167

A really, REALLY good reason to buy a 10mm flex-handle ratchet wrench...and maybe a 12 and 14, too, if you're feeling spendy...
