I have a Kenwood DPX501 that i had on my old Acura but I just purchased a 2001 I30 and I was looking for help installing.I have a couple of questions. Hopefully I can get some help on here.First I need to figure out whats the easiest way to remove the factory stereo?Second, Ive been reading Post and ive read that the factory speakers might not work with the aftermarket headunit.and Last the Kenwood DPX501 is not a regular size radio so I will need a special dash Kit. If you guys google it you will see its a bigger size, so was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a Kit for that radio or would i have to make a custom one.well would appreciate any answers i get. Thanks

The Bose speakers aren't a big deal to integrate with an aftermarket headunit. There are a couple different companies that make adapters, which simply incorporate a line level adapter so you can dial back the juice. Here is a link to one of the types you can use. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1...apter This is what I'm using in my Maxima with Bose with no problems.

For putting in the aftermarket stereo, you can get several different kinds of dash kits... Crutchfield sells some good ones, and you can also luck up on ebay from time to time. From the pictures, it just looks like a standard double din unit. That means the radio brackets off of the stock radio should bolt on and then just drop it in place.

As for the radio removal, I'm not 100% sure, but with most Nissans' and Infinitis', if your pull the AC vents above the radio, and the trim under the radio (usually part of the shifter assembly) then that exposes the screws.

Hope that helps.

they dont make a dash kit for our car, you have to import it from taiwan from a guy on the .org [email protected] he is the only person who can get you a REAL dash kit otherwise you have to fabricate it which would cost about as much as the one he can get you.

Your still going to have a gap around your radio.... No one seemed to mention that it is almost impossible to get a dash kit for our cars unless you either make one yourself, or get the cefrio dash piece.
