Replacing clutch pedal return spring

Hi ya,

I'm having a ***** trying to replace the clutch return spring.I can't compress it enough with the spring ends in place under the dash. I compressed it in a vice and then tried tosafety-wire it, but when I release the pressure the wire slipsdown the spring and uncompresses.

Anyone got any tips?

Well, I got this fixed. I had to take the whole clutch pedal assy out of the car to get the return spring back on. It was still a bear!
