Anyone replaced the bushings on the 95 240SX?? I bought a set of Energy Suspension to replace all the bushings but before I pulled it alll apart, figured I'd get a heads up. Will I need a press? Do they have a press you can use so as not to have to pull all the suspension parts off? Any info. would be helpful. Thanks.

It is going to be quite a job. A true machine press wil make the job go quick and the installation will be clean and true. You will have to completely dismantle the suspension to get at all the bushings, so now is the time to consider replacing you shocks/springs and anything else that eats at you.If you go to an auto shop, they will charge you auto-shop prices. Consider looking around for a business that will have a big press but doesn't necessarily charge you consumer rates. Here in the central valley of Cali, there are quite a few farm equipment places where you can get a lot of work done on the cheap. Including machining.Don't forget that these places can buy raw materials cheap too. So never pay for aftermarket wheel spacers. Just have a place buy a few blanks and make them for you. I learned the hard way I could have had mine for about 1/4 the cost.

Pain in the a$$ but worth every penny. I am seriously considering buying my own press.

After pressing out the first set of bushings the hard way (think homemade press) I went ahead and spent $150 for a nice 15-ton welded frame press from a used tool store. Luckily I have machine shop skills and hook-ups because making the drifts was the hardest part. "Drifts" are Nissan's term for the things that actually press out the bushing on one end and accept the old bushings on the receiving end.....you'll never find them through Nissan, trust me.

However, now I can replace anyone's bushings in an afternoon in exchange for a few 12 packs of Mountain Dew......and maybe their hot sister's phone number!

My dad's shop has a large press, and this is exactly what I did. I just used some scrap steel round stock and a lathe to turn down the drifts.

If you don't have access or skillz, you might want to pay someone to do it as already suggested. It's a huge PITA, especially if you don't have the right equipment.

The results for full urethane are might nice though. It won't rattle your cage like aluminum solids (for the subframe) or unbushed bearings, but still be stiff enough to deliver great performance.

Urethane can be squeaky. The best thing is to find a good heavy grease and apply liberally during assembly. Some times you just have to re-grease. Its a pain, but you can drill and zirc some arms to make your life easier.

I have a brother who can press them in for me. Yeah I imagine getting them all replaced will be a *****. I got the Energy Suspensions Master Kit and it does not even have most of the bushings I need. The bushings on the rear (NISSAN OEM?) Front Upper Link and Rear Upper Link where it meets the Axle Housing are starting to squeeze out. Page RA-7 of the NISSAN manual. I was hoping to replace these with a better quality part since this is a race car. Can't seem to find them, surprisingly NISMO doesn't make them. Any ideas??
