I got some bushings to replace the worn out OEM bushings. Any last minute advice you can give me for making this as painless as possible? When I changed out my struts, I noticed that it appears that when the car is jacked up and the wheel pulls down on the suspension assembly, the T/C rods sort of twist at the point of the front bushing (the metal rod doesn't twist, but the bushing in the rod seems to become deformed due to the stresses of the bolt going through the middle of it vs. the stress the rod itself puts on it as it moves at an angle due to being attached to the lower control arm). Understand? Should the T/C rods be remove with the car tire setting on the ground? Should I jack up the front end, removes the tires, and lower the car ack down with the front discs resting on blocks of wood so that the suspension moves back into position where it would be if the wheel/tire was mounted?thanksJim

Use jack stands

Press out old bushings with hydraulic press

Press in new bushings with instructions from box, apply grease etc.

re-install T/C rods

The car should be off the ground when you remove the TC rods. You shouldn't worry about removing and reinstalling the TC rods, because that is the easy part of the process, only 6 bolts total. The hard part is removing the old bushings, and pressing in the new ones. I cut out my old ones, including the metal collar that almost looks like it's part of the rod, but it's part of the bushing. Mine were so old, I couldn't tell. Anyway, the hard part is pressing the bushings in. Good luck.

Get aftermarket t/c rods. I got TEINs and they work awesome :) Straight replacement and no removing/pressing in bushings
