anyone ever do this on a 90 240? after noticing the decrease in antifreeze, ive looked around, i cant see the spot where the leak is coming from, but i notice on the bottom of the 240, there is almost like a piece which serves as a tray for it to drip on, it must be the lower hose..has anyone ever done this? or bring it to a shop, cuz idk how much im lookin at if i bring it somehwere..anyone have this problem, just wonderin..thnks..

i was having this problem on my '89 240 and it turned out to be a leak in my radiator, which figures since it was the original one. i replaced the radiator for about $200 and also replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses as well. only took me about an hour and a half to get it all in and now the car runs much better. dont bother taking it to a shop, its something you can do yourself if you have a few standard tools

this may be a water pump leak. the pan your talking about may be the splash sheild that keeps water from splashing up into the belt/fan area. check at the bottom of the crank pulley if coolant seems to be dripping from behind there you have a bad water pump.

yep time to check out your lower hose, remember there are 2 parts to the lower hose, a really short part and another long part. You may see it listed as "radiator to pipe" and "pipe to radiator". When my water pump went, I took the time to change the thermo, the radiator hoses (they were old and beginning to show signs of wear), and also the radiator on my s13 as the radiator as also leaking a bit at the top. Might want to check around for signs of wear on your other parts while you're at the lower radiator hose.
