Okay so I will be updating this pretty much daily as I will be working on it every day.

I was planning on doing this because when I opened the throttle body and looked inside the intake manifold it was nasty and black and has some chunky pieces in there.I know this type of thread has probably been done plenty of times, but I'm going to be updating all the things I do because I might have questions and whatnot.

Basically I'll just be replacing all the gaskets, hoses, and other miscelanous things.

Started yesterday by removing a/c compressor and the fan on the front of the motor and those will not be put back on.

Today I started taking the intake manifold and throttle body off for cleaning.

Those gaskets in the pictures are sealed down. Just want to make sure these will be included with the new gaskets before I go tearing them off.

PLEASE if someone can send me a link or let me know the torque specs for this motor that would be awesome.

Also maybe a sugestion where to buy all new gaskets??

Enjuku racing has a complete gasket rebuild kit including factory nissan sealant for under $200. You can get a s14 fsm and the torque specs will be the same there is a link in the sr20 faq, if it isn't working you can set up an account at phatG20 and down load it there.

Took off the exhaust manifold, turbo, p/s pump, and valve cover today.I'm pretty happy with the way the internals look. Seemed like it was maintained. I dind't clean any of it before the pics.

Wish I had the full gasket set so I could start putting this thing back together Put the valve cover back on though just so nothing would get in there.

if you are doing all of this you should consider upgrading the lines on that turbo to stainless steel. It is one of those things that you don't have to do but after you do it you are very happy with the outcome...maybe clean and/or paint that block and valve cover...but you get props from me because I really dread doing the cleaning stuff, I get OCD and every little things after that will bother me.

Yeahh I get the same way. The block is actually really clean doesn't need a painting, I havn't really shown any pics of it on here, but tomorrow I'll get some. Just need another can of carb cleaner or brake clean and it will look new. I was thinkin about painting the valve cover because it's a little scratched up. I'll think about it.And yeah stainless steel lines would be nice. It's somthing I'll consider buying over winter while the engine is being prepared to be put in and I have some extra cash

Took off the alternator, transmission, and clutch today. Getting ready to put the motor on a stand hopefully tomorrow Getting sick of it sitting on the floor. Couldn't get the flywheel off though cause I didn't have a flywheel holder thing. I used a flathead for to get the clutch off and that sucked haha

Heres some pics. The block is pretty clean just needs some more cleaning. It wouldn't be a bad idea to spray the flywheel down with some carb cleaner right? Just get the crap off that's on it. As long as it's nothing lubricated and I dry it off I think it should be fine

Wish I had money to be upgrading all these parts instead

Good advice, once you take off the stock hard lines, they easily get bent by not taking them off from the turbo end, then setting the turbo with the lines attached on the ground. Once you go to put them back on, it is a PITA because they are no longer lined up perfectly. It will take forever to try to get them back on, if you can, and you run the risk of stripping the inlets on the block....

Save yourself a lot of pain and just upgrade them now. I learned the hard way!

Yeah thanks for the advise I will def consider buying them.I'm debating if I should replace the clutch with a better one while I'm at it since it's out of the car. I mean look at the flywheel it's rusted and ****. Clutch disk is in decent shape, but might as well upgrade everything while I'm at it.

Also what is the best site to order the whole gasket kit from?Enjukuracing is the only one I got so far for 200$

I also agree with getting the turbo lines because I tried putting back the OEM ones and it was LAME! Plus, the SS Lines look better imo and will be needed if you plan to upgrade your turbo in the future.

Might as well replace the clutch though, and just have the flywheel resurfaced. Try to get as much done with the engine out because some stuff is a PITA when in the car. Sensors, gaskets, yada yada yada.

Yeah the only reason I didn't want to get the new lines for the turbo was because I was planning on upgrading the turbo eventually and I didn't know if I would need longeror different ones for a top mount manifold.
