I removed my lca from the spindle and damaged the dust boot. Has anyone ever replaced their dust boot on the lca ball joint?

Hi There:

I haven't tried to replace a torn ball joint dust boot, but I just replaced my entire driver LCA yesterday. I got a great deal on an OEM factory replacement (only cost me $45 through Ebay!!) so I decided to replace it since the boot was torn and grease was leaking out. Passenger side looks fine and no play in the ball joint. I inspected the old one and there doesn't appear to be any way to install a new boot. There is a spring clip that can be removed, but when I went to pound out the old ball joint, it didn't budge at all. Maybe with a press or some heat, but as far as I know, Infiniti does not sell the ball joints separate from the LCAs. If you can remove the old ball joint I'm sure you would be able to match it up to a full size Infiniti for which you can buy the ball joint separately. Sorry if that did not answer your current issue, but good luck with your repair.

Agreed - happened to me - there's nothing permanent you can do except replace the LCA.
