Well i was talking to my brother today who owned the J before me and he says that it has never had the shocks or springs or struts replaced. Its a 93 with 114k miles on it...it is definitely time to replace some of this right? Sopdadope recommended to me KYB shocks since the tokicos arent made for the J. http://www.kyb.com/shocks2.html will these work? Are they any good? What else do i need to get replaced in there? Thanks

I contacted KYB myself and was told that they do not make a shock or strut for the J30

I also would be interested in some options if there are any

Ditto, I have a '93 J with 110K that is ready for some suspension lovin'...

What have the rest of you done for new suspension? Where you satisfied with your solution, or would you do it differently in the future?

putting in the oem suspension set-up for the "t" model should be pretty good..

not necessarily, fred. i would keep the standard sway bars, as they are thicker than on the t model.

one could get the t springs...but whats the point? might as well get intrax or from coilsprings.com.

i believe diamond has some koni yellow cartridges installed...maybe he can fill us in

The J30t has heavier springs hence the lighter sway bars. The springs determine attitude. Sway bars compensate for excess spring compression. Heavier springs are the ticket. Each wheel should act is individually as possilble. Sway bars enforce a reaction between both wheels.

but with the same springs, a thicker anti-roll bar has increased resistance to body roll, thus maximizing your contact patch. i would think with the J30's understeering tendency, the use of a thicker bar with the t springs out back might be better.

for highway cruising, i agree, the full t setup is best, which allows maximum individual corner response.
