I have a 2008 Rogue SL AWD in WIcked Black. The other day on my way to work, a rock hit my windhield. Twenty minutes later, I had a crack that became larger as I continued to drive. I have full glass coverage with n o deductible through my insurance annd had the windshield replaced next day.

Now maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but the new windshield seems different. I could swear my original windshield was darker and tinted across the top but now I can't remember for sure. All I know is everything looks brighter through this new windshield and I don't know what to do. Anybody out there got some info on the factory windshield?

I don't think the windshield comes tinted by the manufacturer, nor do I believe it is legal. If you are however referring to the strip of tint at the top of the windshield where it meets the roof line, some cars do have it while other don't. The Rogue is the latter.

The OEM Rogue windshield has a rectangular tinted area (looks like black dots) right behind the rearview mirror. The rest of the windshield has no tint. Perhaps your replacement windshield doesn't have this tinted area?

I really miss the blue upper tint having come from always owning GM's. Every single GM had the blue tint and it sure helped on sunny days.

I have seen many other Nissan's with the blue upper tint and am hoping that if I ever need a replacement windshield that I could request and pay the difference to get the blue upper tint on the replacement.

I believe they just cut down on the sun between the sunvisors but I'm not sure where I heard that

It turns out that the replacement windshield WASN'T a Nissan windshield & it definitely wasn't the same. I called my insurance company & complained to them first, they called the auto glass place, & they ordered a Nissan windshield & came to my house & replaced it. The insurance company was very unhappy with the aut glass place & demanded proof that they installed a genuine Nissan part. In addition, my best friend drives my car when we're together to help me out & give me a rest since I drive 85 miles to work & 85 miles home every day. After the Nissan windshield was put in, she admitted she could see the difference.
