Replacement transmitter programming...

Hello all,

I'm new here, like 5 seconds new here. I was pointed here by someone from another site who ran a Nissan forum. They suggested that this may be a better place to get an answer to my problem. Here's the skinny:

I lost the face to my remote for my 02 Altima 3.5 SE, so I had the bright idea of going to CircuitCity and picking up a 474t replacement transmitter. After trolling for about 2 hours I found the code (lock doors, key in and out of ignition 6 times in 10 seconds) to make the hazards flash. Unfortunately I can't get the transmitter to respond when I push the locked button on the transmitter. Anybody know how to do this?
