Sensors are actually in the valve stems. When I had the dealer throw on the SER 17" wheels, they said no problem, just swapped valve stems too, and no problems.CodeRed wrote:the TPMS sensor is in the wheel not the tires, go ahead change the tires.
I was informed that the TPMS wrapped around the wheel under the tire, but I thought that it was in the valve stem... I think I have been misdirected...OV10stang wrote:Sensors are actually in the valve stems. Just on. Sorry. Definition of "Safety Feature"KKaWing wrote:Hey, newb here considering the Versa. One question? How much are a set of these TPMS? I'm thinking of winter tires on steelies, but without TPMS the light would be on constantly right? Or can I just pull the fuse for that particular system and disable it?
The TPMS system cannot be disabled. You can transfer your existing TPMS sensors to steelies, and then have a new set installed on new tires. when you change the wheels out for the season, you will need to have your sensors re-registered so the correct set of sensors transmits to the BCM. I have no idea how to do this yet, as spring hasn't come yet.KKaWing wrote:Hey, newb here considering the Versa. One question? How much are a set of these TPMS?
