Well i got started today on the system as all my gear showed up from Solen. I will post pics of doors off doors half way and doors done> i am not a big camera guy.

System consists of an Alpine 9688 head unit with time alignment. One Focal 4.75 Amplifier. Vifa/ScanSpeak Tweeter - 4 Inch and Peerless 8 inch for the doors.

4 inch and tweeter are going in the A-pillar and the 8" will be direct coupled to the door. Fibreglassing a pod to attach to the door skin as a cover. Hard to explain as i am not a car audio installer, i am Sound engineer. Not too hard so far.

My buddy George from Number One Sound in Toronto has been kind enough to allow me to use his shop for a small fee. Plus i buy all my car toys from him

Will post pic's soonest.

Sounds like an awesome project. I was beginning to wonder where you went with it, hadn't heard from you in a while. Look forward to the progress.

WOrk and money. Two absolute necessities for car audio. Plus its not going to look all that good i think, do to my lack of skill with this kind of install. Oh well, its going to sound spectacular

Also ordered audiocontrol full 1/3 octave EQ. Could be a bit before i get that.

How do i add pictures in one post like i have seen done? Is there a limit?

Post as many pictures you want. No limit

You'll have to upload and host them on a site such as Photobucket.

Come back here and post the url of the image with the Image tags. Check out our FAQ if you need any guidance. It will explain it better than I can

Back here in the rear doors on both sides i am going to put in a single 8 inch Subwoofer per side. When i get the time.

And this is me at my friends shop Number 1 Sound Here in Toronto.

A bit of the work that they do. Not like my butcher job

Hide a sub. Nice and clean.

Custom Bezel Work for odd double DIN...

And the obligatory Sub Set in an Audi Hatch.

How anyone thinks this Indonesian POS cloth glued on plastic speaker is good is beyond my comprehension!

Also, does anyone know WHY my car when cold makes a weird rattling noise from the right side of the motor when it starts? Only lasts for a few seconds and stops. If the car is warm or was shut down only a few minutes before, when you restart it does not do it.

Lookin good mosswalker! Do you plan on doing ALL the interior speakers? as well as the "subs"? From what i understand, they are located below the B pillar on driver and passanger sides

I found no 'subs' in this car. All i know is not one thing from the factory BLOSE system will be tainting the sound in my car.

I also failed to include a picture of the pillars as they are being done to. Thats why they are not there I gave up trying to fibreglass them and left it to Dan at Number One Sound. Thats the only thing i am not doing. I built the pillars i just cannot finish them due to a lack of skill.

I found 2 speakers on the back deck, one in each rear door and one in each front door. Along with the tweeters in the pillars that is a total of EIGHT POS speakers. I disconnected the factory amp as well so now i couldnt go looking for them if i wanted to.

I am pretty sure there isnt anymore speakers though.

Which side of the engine when LOOKING at the car...if it's the left when looking under the hood, it's probably timing chain noise, something Nissan has had issues with in their QR- and VQ-series engines.

Hey mosswalker, just curious, but what kind of dash kit are you using? Did they just use the factory plate and cut it out for the double din? I personally used Metra kits with all my previous vehicles so I haven't seen one like yours before.

And these are the pillars after careful measurments to make sure they cross 7 inches down and dead center of the dash.

Thanks Nissantech i am starting to think though that it is an alternator bearing or the tensioner bearing. I am PROBABLY wrong. I am taking it in next week if it does not die before then

Powertrain warranty includes the Alternator? Thats whats making the noise. The pulley does not move immediately when you start it cold and releases nearly immediately. I am afraid its gonna go on me .
