Hello,

First i would like to thank everyone for their contribution an dinformation on my questions, I am wondering if anyone has used over the counter gas line hoses and emission control hoses instead of Infiniti's? I know that the factory hoses are the best but having to pay over $230 for just the emission hoses seems excessive to me, also I was planning on re-using the bottom intake manifold gasket set since they cost over $79 each, can this be done or not? I am on a bit of a budget but I do not want to be foolish about trying to save some $$$

Thanks very much!

As I recall, poormanQ45 is the only one that was willing to do the work twice (pulling plenum), and I'm not sure if his Q has ever been back on the road??

Why are you planning on removing the runners? If it's to replace the coolant lines from the left to right bank, it's not necessary - although it may make things easier. You can very liberally lubricate the hoses and fittings to allow you to fish them in there. A real pain, but it can be done...

If you do decide to remove the runners - I think it would be sufficient to just remove one side for access...

Actually I've done it at least a dozen times just for s**ts and giggles on the '92 & she runs just fine.

I've been running non-Infiniti hoses on my '92 since I got her and haven't had any problems so far. Just make sure you get the high pressure fuel line and not the stuff made for carbs.

If they are clean, undamaged, and lacking of rust, you should be just fine re-using them.

As I'm sure others will chime in shortly to mention oem is the best route to go, and I agree with them, things can be done on a budget without sacrificing quality.
