I just wanted to share my excitement. The local Infiniti dealership wanted $145, the VIN, and 2 days to make another key for my 93 Q. Well, I found a local locksmith that made me one for $25 and aboout 3 minutes. I just tried the key and it works like a champ!

If anyone is interested, here is there info:

Here's why this is a $75 savings now, but could cost more in the future

The dealership should have been able to offer the service of making a generic key cut other than the price for a new infiniti key design. However remember this only applies to cars made beforen 2000 because during 2000 they started the computer chip key program.

Wow, thats a great price, especially for anyone looking to make emergency spares. They had the blanks and everything?

In St Louis, all the Infiniti dealers use a local locksmith. None of them make keys.
