Does anybody still use the original fuel strainer? If so, do you know a replacement for the filter inside? My truck came with a small filter inside the fuel strainer bowl that isn't stock but I can't find a replacement for it.

Looks like a lawnmower or chainsaw fuel filter. Are there any part number on the filter element?

No part numbers on the filter. I have look for various small engine filters that would fit. It is kind of similar to some tractor fuel filters, but I haven't found any thing that fits.

You can occasional find these on eBay or check the websites of the early Datsun Fairlady as this fuel filter is the same for all early Datsun model. I've seen them of around $6-$12.

Ohh, okay, so may $18.70....

Conner,

I was thinking Nissan still might have these in stock, even though its a 50year old part.

I'll give a call tomorrow.

Here's another part # 16404-68225. This is from the fuel filter box from my 320 out of Beaverton, Oregon. Just filter and spring, no gaskets.

Andy,

Are you saying to bought that filter from the Nissan dealership in Beaverton? That is where I live. It looks like they might have that part here: http://www.nissanpartszone.com/parts/ni ... 68225.html as well.

I don't need the spring, and I already cut a new gasket. The old gasket was thin rubber and had ripped, causing my truck to die a parking lot nearby. I cut a new gasket out of 1/8" cork.

Thanks for the part number(s) Andy and Gemmers,
Dylan

No it came with my '64 320. It's the Bamboo Tan one that was on eBay last summer.

I'll check the link as I see it last 5 digits in the part number.

thanks
