I was starting to get a little hungry and saw the new 2018 Q50 Red Sport and thought why not give this a try. I arrived at the dealership too late for me to test drive but the GM was still in the office doign paperwork and was happy to open one up for me. It just ain't a replacement for the room and luxury feel of my 97' Q45. Now in 1997 my Q45t which had every feature that Infiniti offered in the day and stickered at 54k is obviously about as much as a well equiped new Q50, while the Q70 would really be a better comparison. But that doesn't offer the nice 400 pony new style 3.0 liter engine like the Q50. I guess the Q45 goes another year.

Yeah... I don't know what the worthy replacement for an older Q would be now. Sadly, the LS460 is probably as close as you'll see in the new car market, and I'm not sure about the new LS that was just released.

I really like my Q70 and feel like it is a good replacement for the Q45. I drove the 5.8L and it is a hoss pumping out over 400HP! I went with the 3.7L and in sport mode it is powerful.

My local dealer has that same red 2018 Q50s, red seats and carbon fiber interior - it is one beautiful car. I think the Q50 is a little small, but it's beautiful none the less.

I do look at the Q70, but man it gets panned in reviews. The LS460 is kinda nice, my dad had one on lease for a few years. I will have to go and sit in Q70 at some point soon, but the Q50 is jus to small and doesn't have the luxury feel of my current Q.

I started looking at the Q50, but was quickly disappointed in the size, feel, interior - just about everything. Then they had a Q70L with the V8 and I loved it, but it was out of my price range. I didn't look at anymore Q70s, because I thought they were too pricy, but the Q70s with the 3.7 V6 are in the low $30s. I've had mine a week now and love it more every day. In eco mode I get 20+ mpg, but it drives very sluggish. In normal mode and sport mode it's very responsive and I'm pleased.

Alabama, You know if they are really low 30's that is worth a look. I have only peered into one and the interior does look way better than the Q50 I was sort of hung up on the V6 they still use the older motor vs. switching over to the newer 3.0 liter turbos. The car sites just hate on the car, but you know they hated my Q45 too and I love that car still.

I will sit in one next trip, I sort of wish they still did the Q70 hybrid, looks like 2017 was the last year for that. They are already selling 2019 versions of the Q70. I would love that 5.6 V8 but I just don't want another car that averages sub 20's like my Q45 does, I got 20 MPG on my last tank which is as good it gets for me, I guess if I would just use a little less right foot that might change but why the hell did I get a V8 to start with :)

Where do you see these in the mid-30's is that a give-away price or a used one? The Infiniti site starts them in low 50's???

I went from an '00 Q45 AE, to an '03 M45, to recently a virginous only 18k having '12M56s. And BOY....it's got it all...luxury...blistering power....I'd run with an RS....the Q50's feel very cheap and minimalist inside. Even my Q had a more solid feel than my '12 M56. The carpet in the 2012 is garbage, thin paper crap. But the ENGINE...oh boy.....

I imagined a Q50 to be 5.0L version compare the to Q45 or at least the 5.6 titan engine... id kill for that in my 94 Q...Thank god Infiniti is an independent company owned by nissan japan with no ties to renault like the us market nissans

Yuppers Badq45t - I have seen it - drooled on it and even got a sponge out of my back pocket - Red Q50s - it's a beauty - Only 63k on mine now - going strong - just spent $1000 on bushing for front end work / alignment and wheel balance - she stull humming along

Wow super clean Y33,same color as mine. I know the Q70 can be had with a 5.6 liter, but that engine is super old at this point, and while over 400 ponies is nothing to sneeze at, I just want a car that isn't going to be drinking Super Unleaded at a high pace. The Q50 feels very cheap inside, I think that my Mom's Maxima feels more more like a Luxury car compared to the Q50.

I know I could find a Q70 at the right price, but it is outdated, look at the ratings it is near the bottom with no Apple Car Play or Andriod auto, the 3.7 and 5.6 are dated engines and they stopped making the hybrid.
