Is there a way to know if this one purchased from Libero USA needs to have the plastic-backed chain guides replaced?

I am uncertain if there's any way to tell if the engine already came with the upgraded metal guides without the expense of paying for the job to see the chain.

Unfortunately I don't have a number to contact this company.

Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

We have changed 30+ 90-93 engines over the last 10 years and every JDM take out engine had the orginal oem [plastic guides].

One must assume that every JDM will require a guide rehab along with the other necessary items...........a day or two of rehab once you get the engine BEFORE it's ready to install.

We always pull the oil pan examine and clean then reseal just as with valve covers and under plenum work.

Just plan wasteful to buy/ship and engine and not do all the preliminary work to make it last another 100,000 miles.

The only way an engine swap is cost effective is to prorate it over 5 years plus BECAUSE you still have all the other annual cost that will occur.......... say $2500 for things other than engine + $1,000 per year for engine swap.

And what Q45tech infers by alllusion is it is much cheaper to do those things now (including new motor mounts, all 3) than it is to perform the labor when each system fails after the engine is installed. Engine seals and knok sensors can require multi hundreds of dollars in labor just by themselves.
