Hi folks,

I've got a 93 J30t (180,000k) that is in great condition but I have no end of problems with the stereo.

Last year I replaced the stock unit with a replacement from a 95 J30, including the wiring harness.

This replacement unit started to get flakey in the middle of a road trip (typical!) and now it is totally dead (no audio, no display). I would like to replace it with a more reliable unit.

Ideally I would like to stick with something from a newer model Infiniti and is still in the Bose/Clarion line. I'm aware of some of the challenges with aftermarket heads and the Bose setup in these cars so they would only be considered as a last resort.

I'm looking for experiences from anyone else who may have done this and what parts worked out.

Thanks.

there are tons of threads here about such problems you have, so try and do a search for different options. I personally had mines rebuilt and it is working out perfectly.

the unit on this car sucks, mine (95) has problems with the display and I just put sony's cd changer in the trunk and forgot about the display

you can replace the head using the valume level adapter and forget about the prob for the future.
