So first I want to say thanks. I got some great info here about how to fix the mistakes I made taking the front seats out of my versa. Should have unplugged the battery first.

Anyway, like an idiot, I stripped the star bolt that holds the seat down. Dealer says I have to get a whole new track system. Is there anywhere I can find a replacement bolt? I've searched online and can't find anything. I'm looking for the one that goes behind the seat.

Thanks for the help.

im guessing you can use a bolt measuring tool that tells u the thread pitch and how long it is. and then i would just go to the hardware store and put something together. do u have the bolt even taken out? take a picture of it so we have an idea of what it is

as far as talking to the dealer guys..depends on who u talk to sometimes. i work at a dealership and some of the advisors up front are a bunch of idiots. you are better off talking to one of the tech because they are the ones that working on the cars..the advisors just sit there and look pretty JK LMAO

Thanks so much for the info FGVersa! Here's an image of the bolt. I'm having a hard time attaching an image to the post, but you can see it here at http://forum.surfermag.com/photopost/sh ... hoto=66718

The guy at the dealer was not that helpful. But that is what is so great about these forums.

Thanks again.

I'm almost embarrassed to say how i did it. I work next to a muffler shop and asked to borrow a star bit from them. They didn't have one, and one of the guys there told me to try out an allen wrench. It totally worked for one bolt and then f@*ked up that one. Went and bought a star bit after that. I was able to get it out,and there's probably enough "bite" so that I could put it back in, I just don't want to take that chance. Live and learn I guess.
