Where can I find a replacement lower valance for my SOON TO BE 1986 720 and that's made of steel? All the one I see online seem to be made of plastic Anyone have experience with the plastic versions? Is the OEM one plastic?

There are 3 720s at the local scrap yard here in Columbia, SC. I had my eye on one valance that looked to be in decent shape, but not perfect. Here's a photo.

The place will charge me $18 if I pull it myself.

Where do you live?

Thanks for the replies.

I'm in Savannah and I'm not certain of the exact condition of mine. I definitely know more after I get the truck. I can't wait.

Was your replacement plastic?

Based on the link PEZi720 gave, yes his was plastic and under $60 delivered to your door. I'd say go with the plastic because with the shipping plus the prep work and supplies cost to get it primered and ready for paint, you'd be better off with the plastic.

In other words, I think the plastic would be faster, better condition, and about the same cost in the end! Plus it will probably be more forgiving of minor damage.

There is a PullAPart salvage yard in Augusta, Ga where they have 4 720 trucks. I bet you could find a valance there. You have to pull it yourself. They don't answer the phone so you will need to go there in person to see what they have. I have saved probably $100 by getting stuff from them here in Columbia, SC. :rotfl

My valance. Not so bad. Might try to work it out when I move to my new place.

PEZi720,
if you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for the metal valance?
