Replaceing G35 Coupe Backup Bulb Help Needed.

Searched and am looking at the FSM>
Is it true that you have to REMOVE the tailight assembly just to replace the bulbs??
And, not sure what the 'Seal Packing' is that the FSM says you can not reuse....
Can I not just remove the assembly, replace bulb, and reinstall the assembly??

Well rich, here's a little pic:


The lamp isn't hard at all to remove, just pull back the interior trunk panel and you'll see the nuts. And the seal packing is only for the Sedans, so you don't need to worry about it. When you're done, have a beer and a NC pulled pork sandwich. I know I want one....
