you can re use your old rod and main bolts .. but i would suggest if you have the money go ahead and replace the mains with ARPs

in order to remove the crank to replace the main bearings you WILL destroy the front crank gear (that the timing belt rides on) so order a new one of those ($5-10). they tend to weld themselves to the crank and have to be drilled/broken off... just a word of wisdom from someone who's not only done it twice myself, but seen almost everyone else who removed their crank do too!

Nissan sells OEM main and rod bolts and they aren't too expensive. keep in mind you can't replace the rod bolts yourself, they are pressed in. I would also recommend some machine work on the crank and rod ends to make sure they are still round to factory specs. that won't be too expensive and will be VITAL to the life of your motor good luck, rebuilding a motor is alot of fun! I really enjoyed learning how it all worked when I did my rebuild.

Just to screw Sean up, my Crank gear came of just fine with a 2 prong pully press. But AFAIK, I'm the ONLY person who was able to get theirs off with out cutting it off. I'd follow his advice and get another, just incase. I'm also reusing my rod and main bolts, and to my knowledge, ARP doesn't make main studs for the CA.

FYI, you can get any ARP bolt, stud, etc for any thing in your car as long as you know the dimensions.

ok well what my plan is, rebuilding the motor i get so i can run safe, but in like 2 yrs i plan on totalling building it, like new rods, pistons, build the head, everything you know, so is getting machine work done now really worth it? im on a budget, and i will replace the main bolts but probably not the rod bolts bolts because having it done will take way 2 much

I was able to get some ARP mainstuds for my built engine, but I can't remember the part #s. But for the guy that is going to be changing his bearings, you should inspect the bearings to see their condition before you up and change them. Most times, the mains are in excellent condition.

Make sure the bearings surfaces are not scorched or showing copper as well being pitted. Any bearing with a dark grey surface is a good bearing to me. But if you go as far as open up your oil pan, at least change the rod bearings. Leave the rod bolts and mains alone if your bearings appear to be in good condition.
