Hi, My first post! I have a 2008 Rogue SL AWD with about 178K miles. I replaced, on the passenger front, a wheel bearing, speed sensor and lower control arm w/ball joint. I also replaced both front struts. When finished, I took it for a very short spin. Pulling out of the driveway I noticed a slight clunking and the steering felt a little squirley. On the street when I reached about 15mph the AWD (anti skid) light came on and the car had no acceleration until I slowed down to about 5mph and the light went off. This kept happening until I limped back into my garage.

I did the same work, minus the struts, on the driver side last year and had no problem. I started a new thread because I was on this site for over an hour and found no problems similar to mine.

I'm thinking it's something I overlooked when putting it all back together but can't for the life of me think of what it might be. I plan to be back out in my garage in the morning to see if I can notice anything out of sorts. I'd do it now but I'm so tired I can't stand it!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I checked it out today, the tie rod end was loose. That took care of the squirley steering but the other problem still exists. I'm at a dead end with this, as I'm finding nothing on the net in regards to this kind of problem. I just don't believe nobody has experienced at least something similar!

Another thought I had was, maybe the cv axel shaft got damaged somehow. But I don't see anything. I guess it's possible something could be wrong inside the CVT?

I also thought there could be something wrong with the new wheel bearing so I put the old one back on, nothing changed, still have the same problem. I don't believe the speed sensor has anything to do with it, I've had a bad one before and it just lit up on the dash until I replaced it.

The only other thing I did was replace the struts, I can't imagine this is the cause. But I've been wrong before!

PLEASE HELP...!!!

Take it in for a wheel alignment. I am sure your camber and toe-in are out of spec. The two bolts that you took off for your struts affect camber and the new control arm geometry does not exactly match the old control arm. I know for a fact that bad toe-in will activate your AWD stability control and it is not a good feeling. I had this problem and I toed out just to make it stop and took it in for a wheel alignment. Hope this helps.

glaze182 thanks for that. I checked the toe on both sides, the passenger side was out by quite a bit, driver side was out just a little. I did the 'string' alignment and got them both pretty close. When I test drove it I had the same problem. When I accelerate to about 10mph the 'skid' light comes on and am unable to accelerate any more. When I let the car slow down the 'skid' light goes off and I can accelerate again but when I get to 10mph the same thing happens. So if/when I take it in I'll have to drive 10mph or less to get it there. Luckily I'm not far from 4 different garages.

My main concern now is that a garage might want to do a major repair like a CV axel or CVT replacements, or both! I could do the axel myself but hate to spend the money and effort to find out I still have the problem! I'm not sure I would want to even attempt a transmission replacement, not set up for that.

Does anybody think it could be my 'new' speed sensor?

I just disconnected the 'new' speed sensor and the problem went away! I'm now able to go more than 10mph.

The sensor I had a problem with was new, so no wear. The sensor I replaced was destroyed when I removed the wheel bearing. When you have a car as old as mine with as many miles, the sensor will not easily come out of its installation hole. I had to cut the wire and drill out the hole, this is common. So if you are replacing a wheel bearing, order a sensor when you order the wheel bearing.
