My car has been having issues of running hot, and yesterday I found that I was losing coolant from around the water pump, and the whole pump was shot. I replaced it, and the thing still is trying to overheat on me.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Did you make sure to bleed the air out of the cooling system? Thermostat stuck closed? Is your radiator clogged?

All very good suggestions. Don't forget the obvious making sure you topped off your radiator after replacing the pump.
