I replaced my timing chain the other day and put everything back upi put all my fluids back in started it up... then the car would not idle goodand was leaking radiator fluid from the water pump.. i put rtv on it but i dont know if thats what it is or just a bad water pump.. but the problem is before i changed the chain.. there were no leaks.. there were never any leaks.. could it be just the rtv wasnt holding good? ive done a search but i couldnt find any similar posts to my problem. i went and got a new gasket for it today.. i hope that the water pump didnt go bad just by taking it off..also when i press on the gas its making a loud noise.. sounds like how a weedeater sounds.. thats the best i can describe it. well thanks .. hope you all can help me.

dont know about the idle and wead eater sounds exept that maby the cam timing is a tooth off or somthing.

as far as the water pump, you sure you rtv'ed around the whole sealing surface and around all the bolt holes?

rtv can be quite funny sometimes. it likes to set up for like 2 hours before you put coolant in. also the surface needs to be like super clean befor you put down the rtv.

weedeater sound? sounds like and exhaust leak or something.

as for the idle. its wrong timing or its something else(obviously) but you did just do the chain. did you put a timing light on it yet?

wait, by wead eater, did you mean the constant "buzz" they make? could be the timing chain hitting somthing or rubbing against somthing
