So my 2k1 maximas starter dies yesterday (couldnt start al all) so me and my dad replaced it today bought a new one from foreign auto parts and the brand of it is OEPLUS. everyhing went fine except when i start the car at the end of the ignition it makes a very loud squeeking sound we are on our second starter . so the part dealer said they'll order some other brand and will give it for us for free but any idea why it makes this sound did we do something wrong all we did is just install it right out of the box.thanksD

I have a kinds of the same experience. My I30 was replaced a new alternator, which was bought on the Autozone, after that it made huge noise. The sound was like a big construction truck. So I ordered another one on ebay, actually which was much cheaper than old one. The new alternator from ebay was replaced 3 days ago. It works really good. The I30 is quite and smooth now. Don't too much worry about that. Just exchage another one. You will get peace of mind.

I go for OEM products, and buy them mostly from Joe (Infiniti of Scottsdale) at discounted price. You'll find the prcing from Joe not much different (sometimes even cheaper) than non-OEM products. The starter in the I30/Maxima is not difficult to replace so it's probably Ok to get non-OEM part. But it could 'die' any time and get you stranded in the middle of nowhere.

The symptom you mentioned indicates a dry starter. Opening it and applying lithium grease will surely fix it. But it would be better to get a replacement since it's still under warranty.
