Just got done having a set of Prothanes from PDM pressed in. I noticed that steering is a little more crisp, but the front end still pops when I do quick sharp turns. I took it to the parking lot and tried to jerk the car around to see the difference. Any ideas as to what else could cause the popping noise? Or is it normal for the poly to make that noise?

Not yet, just wanted to get a heads up on any parts I might need to replace before heading down to the alignment shop. I think it could be my lower ball joint, seeing as how it pops under sharp steering inputs.....then again, the t/c rods are the ones that "pop".

that noise sounds like it is the ball joints...they make a kind of CLUNK noise when you make a hard turn, when they are bad....you'll never find the rear ball joints, you'll have to buy the whole arm....or I think you can replace the rear ball joints with the front ball joints from a sentra... If they have never been replaced I would do that before the alignment.

If the noise is coming from the front, why would it be the rear ball joints?

You can also have worn strut mounts - not expensive. As you turn, stress is put on this unit in different degrees which can cause a popping noise if they're worn bad.

I vote that it's the ball joints.

Yeah, I figured it might be the ball joints. I've replaced those before but on my previous 240. Just wanted some input from someone w/ the poly t/c bushings and see if its normal.

Yeah probably the ball joints, but let the guy who's trying to upsell you after the alignment give you the verification of that lol.

Check your rack...bushings, fasteners etc...
