alright so today i started replacing the water pump and oil pump/cover... water pump was no big deal but daym that oil pump is a B***H .... it was hard enough gettting the crank pulley off!! ..... i ran into a few problems but eventually go that deng pump off...... my biggest problem was putting it back on the gasket was pretty jacked up from trying to get the pump off..... bad news the gasket broke off the part where it seals the top oil pump/cover to the bottom of the head.......

my question is how much pressure is in that area? i wasn't able to repair it so i just broke off the rest of it and put alot of rtv grey sealant in the area and put everything back together

There is not a bunch of pressure. It's just top seal oil, that's all. Just put some liquid sealant there, and you'll be fine. That's what I did, and I've had no problems so far

nice thanks man..... i was skeptical of how much pressure generated in that area blowing out the rtv seals...... hopefully i get no leaks because i don't want to go thru that again.......
