What kind of whining sound? Is it like an electric kind of whine or more like a metallic/screeching sound?

(a video would be great, but if not its ok)

its metallic like a bearing thats why i changed the tensioner pulley and the idlers it stopped for 2 days and I checked everything but it seems its the tensioner pulley again witch was just replaced a week ago with a oem.

Are you sure your not rubbing on the covers? Have you checked the alternator? Try taking off all the belts and see what happens, I had a sound like that, annoying little sound. Ended up being the alternator.

How is the fan clutch?

You can do an old, but good, trick. Get a hose with at least 3/4" inner diameter and a couple feet long. Put one end to your ear, and move the other around your engine bay until you locate they exact culprit of the sound :)

Wooden broom handle, screw driver, all that kind of stuff will work the same. You just need to have the sound travel in the pin pointed spot.

If it's not the bearings/idlers, WP, or belts then it could just be the AC compressor itself

I checked every belt one by one and it turn out the alternator belt was to tight so put less tension and it stopped. Its weird because I thought the tension had to be like on most other cars. thanks for the info guys and i used the hose technique.

Yeah when belts are too tight they make a weird noise. I had that same thing happen when I overtightened the AC compressor belt when doing a timing belt job on my 92 Maxima. Glad you got it worked out
