replaced head gasket now car wont start.......

i did a cometic head gasket, put every thing back together and when i tried to start it... nothing just cranks over. checked for spark , none. also noticed ground wire from head to fire wall smoking! what is going on?

whats the ground wire for? is it part of your ignition circuit?

when you crank the car, does it smoke right away or does it take time to start smoking?

the only thing i can think of at the moment is that the plugs are fouled with coolant or something. check those plugs, then check your distributor and coil.
