Hi everyone,
Hope Thanksgiving is going good for everyone.

I finally got the CA running again and I'm looking to get some honest feedback.

When I first fired it up, it seemed noisier. Not sure if this is normal or not. I'm hoping it was just a matter of getting the oil circulated as I had the head resurfaced and cleaned:

It got smoother once it warmed up.

Oil pressure is great.

Thanks

When you changed the HG did you change the Timing Belt as well? If so what brand did you use? I know with Blue Gates belts develop a hum with the RB's, not all of them do but some of them do and its quite pronounced.

It kind of sounds like something I had happen after my last timing belt replacement. In my case, I tightened the upper timing cover bolts up in a strange order and caused a similar sound. I loosened them all and then re-tightened them in the correct order and the noise went away. It was awhile ago so I'm not sure if you sounds is the same sound i heard. just thought I'd give my .02.

Yeah, I kind of chewed up the timing belt because I put it on too tight and the teeth rubbed on the cover. I adjusted it right and have ordered another one. The sound I noticed sounded more mechanical and was loud when it was cold, but if no one thinks it's out of the ordinary, I'm not going to worry about it.

I'll post another vid if it does something obvious.

Thanks

I swear I know this engine now. I thought I heard a slight metallic sound li e I said, but I wasn't sure if it mattered. Today I replaced the timing belt today and put on a different tensioner and made extra sure the pulley was tight enough. The sound is gone. I think it was the pulley.

Nice to actually be able to solve something...
