Armed with the advice of the members at NICO, and great service from Southwest - I've decided to take on a few projects on my 'new' 95 Q45t w/ 160k miles.

First on the list was replacing the fuel pump - as it made an awful loud humming noise.

Thanks to several member’s posts - it took 1.5 hrs to complete.

However, now I hear a low buzzing / crackling noise – very similar to static over a speaker. It’s difficult to isolate – but definitely somewhere around the fuel tank (not the speakers). The noise could have been there prior to the pump replacement.

Any thoughts as to the cause of the new noise?

Thanks.

Add'l information:The original pump was replaced at 79.5k The filter on the old pump was off white in color (no darker) and the inside / bottom of the tank was spotless. (I ran the gas down to nil – and looked in the tank).I put two gallons of gas into the tank - and then drove to the station to fill up.Engine appears more responsive.
