When I replaced the digital clock, it was not functional so I came upon a donor qx4 and here are the symptoms (both 2001)

the arms seem to be moving but I cannot adjust the time - when dark the background light is lit/on so there is power I figure - also, I read somewhere here that you can easily fix the digital clock but is this applicable to the qx4 clock as well?????

pretty loose and crashy front end - mounts/struts understood but there is also a slight clicking sound (CV - the whole thing or just parts of it ??)

is the CV a common replacement item, have 200k on the car (origina[*]l front end) - any write ups on this etc Thanks

Re:CV joints.
The meeting of the drive faces may be worn, a new set of boots will be needed at least. Use OEM. Look for wear at the drive and driven sides/ends.

Replacing is a matter of dis-assembling from outside to inside of the drive line. When re-assembling, check as you go, pre load the wheel ends as by the book, do one side at a time.

While your at it verify struts, shocks, bearing and links.

Hey thanks ARKqx33v6 .... Not that inclined but will take note of this and ask to have it done - got a hold of a donor qx4 and will take the entire assembly and verify as it is taken out - boots and strut mounts bearing I will pick up at local super friendly (until you start asking questions) dealer - they are good for some things i guess -

Now,the digital clock issue - any qx4 owners have any issues and how did you resolve it - thank you ........... guess I can live with it but would really like to see if I can fix meself -
