Recently I had my brakes replaced (rotora/pads/sensors/hardware etc). The shop I had it replaced at doesn't have access to consult, and were unable to get rid of the brake pads worn message. They tried to disconnected the battery to reset the ecu, this didn't fix the problem. Is there anything I can do, short of taking it to a shop with consult?

Thanks

They don't know much about Infiniti's.

Need to cut the brake pad sensor wires and connect to close the circuit.

Next time, use OEM pads so you don't have to defeat the sensors.

Any idea how the OEM pads work with the sensors? I have the same issue with my recently purchased91Q. The front sensor wires are skinned, the soldered together. The rear pads have an integral nest for the sensor built in on the passenger side. Therefore it seems as if the sensor should work correctly, however the 'pads worn' indication remains illuminated even if I completely remove the sensor from the brake pad. What gives?

Since the fronts are shorted to complete the circuit, it would seem as if they are not the issue. To me it seems as if the rear is simply a proximity sensor that turns on when the pad wears to the point where the sensor reaches a critical distance from the metallic rotor and 'turns on'.

I have not tried to cut the rear wires and connect them together, but it seems as if I shouldn't have to if I simply remove the sensor from any proximity to the rotor. Am I missing something? ANy other suggestions?

Thanks DAEDALUS,

I got the new sensor with the new pads not OEM, (raybestos), installed it but got the pads worn message still, i checked the rear sensor and it looks good to me, i read that article, but it doesnt help me much unless i decide to just cut and splice them together.

Well, there are 2 sensors, 1 front and 1 rear. Could be the other one. You can disconnect the connector and verify the sensors have continuity still. They either both have continuity, or one or both do not.

Either the one that beeps or ohms will work.

I'll be checking it tommorow, I lost my car for the night to the infiniti dealer, i finally took it there to check out my shawdy install on injector 8.(leaking lower seal). Been having a rough idle, and seemingly low power below 60k, and not to mention the intoxicating smell of petro when i get in the car. But smooth compared to how it was. (missing on 2 cylinders). The mechanic said that that little leak could be causing me all these problems.

Didnt know a little leak around the injector was so bad. Guess thats why he's the machanic not me. hehe
