Well hum...Im leaking power steering fluid here in the circled part. When I turn the wheel I see that it squirts power steering fluid out. Do any of you know if this is replaceable or what I can do? Thanks for the help.

can u tell where its coming from? if its from where the hose hits the metal, then u might be able to get just the metal and cut off the old one, i doubt thats a possibilty though. if its coming out of the pump then it could be a fun lil project.

From what it looks like it seems like its the hose but that hose is connected to that metal ball joint then into the pump. Not sure if it comes off or what? Like if its a whole line or a line connected to the metal part.

Boom!!!

I just replaced that hose myself not two weeks ago. I had the exact same problem.......I would have my friend crank the wheel and power steering fluid would squirt all over the place. It's the high pressure line so naturally it would squirt far!

Anyway, the bottom portion was leaking as well at the crimp connection. Nissan wanted something like $90 for it and I said forget that. Don't bother trying to cut and recrimp either. Just purchase a new one......it will probably be good for another eleven years! I went to http://www.partsamerica.com and ordered it for $40 plus shipping. The hose is an impressive little piece of engineering as it has to connect to the power steering pump on the top, and the fluid hardline at the bottom, while also allowing an insert for a fluid pressure sensor (also at the bottom).

If you need any help with this hose swap at all, feel free to drop me a line. I consider myself the master of power steering plumbing!!

Good luck.

SWEET! coo Im probably gonna order it today and hope it gets here by Monday/Tuesday. Do you think its ok that its squirting drive around like that for a week? I guess I just keep adding PS fluid to be safe. So is it just like two bolts or what? I was staring at it on my lunch break and couldn't go around determing how to take it off.

Two bolts???

Oh man it's a song and dance that you wouldn't believe. Don't worry about the fluid leaking out, it just makes everything greasy on that side of the engine bay. The main thing that I hated about it is that when power steering fluid picks up dirt, it looks just like oil so some people will ask you about your "serious oil leak".

Keep this in mind though........the easiest way to evacuate your power steering fluid is to just remove the bolt from the high pressure line to the compressor and a have a friend ready with a plastic bag or something to catch all of the fluid that comes gushing out.

Two bolts................ha ha ha
