Replace Sunvisor light?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all,

Since I got my car the driver's sunvisor mirror light is not working. The passenger's side works just fine, but not the driver's.

As I didn't got the car brand new and it was out of warranty, I had to pay for the fix. The thing is that the dealer told me they can't replace bulbs. They only sell the whole sunvisor which costs like $400 CAD I think. :ohno:

The dealer was even nice enough to tell me that I could opt on getting a used of eBay as it was really expensive and didn't worth it for such a small thing.

But I'm still not convinced. Are these bulbs really not replaceable?

I've Googled a bit and searched around the EX35/EX37/QX50 forum and didn't find anything specific to the sunvisor lights on our Infinitis.

Does anyone have any experience or advice?

Thanks :)

mac ,you are correct-a -mundo on "still not convinced ..." ,because whether it's bulbs OR LED's, those visors usually CAN be very carefully , dis-assembled , cracked open, gotten down to it by diagnostically homing in on THE DEFECTIVE ILLUMINATING DEVICE. See if you can find a "crackerjack",fabricator, appl. repairman who can "Jerry-rig","mickey-mouse" - without the FRANKENSTEINED LOOK
Man I mean even if $100 part - that's "sick money" for just that??

They're about $70 USD on eBay right now...hardly seems worth it to bother tinkering or paying someone to find a replacement bulb.

Both visor covers are broken on mine and the lights burnt out. I looked into them when I got the car and found it was very common for them to break, so I didn't bother replacing them. Poor design on Infiniti's part.
