Q45 - 1994

I may need to replace injectors #4 & #6.... :frown:
I starting feeling a bit of misfiring and I ohmed them - one is at 76 ohms and the other at 160 ohms.

Do I need to completely remove the plenum or is it possible to do it just proping it up on the passenger side?

On the injectors: Should I go with the OEM? If so, who's the best source?

Thank you!

Many people here get injectors from DeatschWerks in OKC. I think you will need to remove the plenum as the injectors get stuck in the rails over time.

Have any of the under plenum hoses been replaced?

Here's a thread about dealing with the plenum as an assembly.. Also, lots of plenum threads around here.

Truth be told...I've removed 4 and 6 without taking the whole plenum off. I disconnected the AAC (be careful with the gasket), the plenum hose next to it, and the passenger side plenum hose from the valve cover of course. Propped it up about 6 inches...used a stubby phillps head the first time(a little pb blaster on the screws)...and the injectors just popped out. I've already replaced all my hoses though on previous jobs..and now I've replaced all the screws with hex socket heads so I can use an allan wrench on em. Just pray 5 and 7 don't go bad. Good luck.

Locknut, thanks for the feedback. Your tips make sense. I will give it a try. First I have to shop for the injectors.....
I did the plenum job and had the fuel rails serviced by DeatshWerks about two years ago...I am just trying to avoid having to completely remove the plenum, specially the driver side...

Ive never done an injector without having the plenum off, but its pretty feasible.. 4 and 6 should be pretty easy, its the drivers side thats usually a lot tougher since the TB has a bunch of stuff going on there..
