I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE six cylinder. Cylinder four is misfiring (I had the OBD codes read, that's what the reader said) and based on what I have read by googling the issue, it is likely that I have a bad ignition coil. I looked up that part online, and it looks like there are 2 types of ignition coils, one for the front bank and one for the rear bank. Which one do I need? Where is cylinder four located?

on my 01 I30 number 4 is the center cylinder in the front. Look in the Manual or whoever read your codes should have told you where number 4 was located. Go back and ask them. I replaced one on a 95 Maxima and it is easy. Takes 15 minutes. The front and rear were different shapes.

'00 and '01 are the same, so his #4 is where your #4 is.
