wow, i don't really use this site anymore and i kind of miss it! but anyways, i am really thinking about selling my Qx4. I am really looking for a small coupe like an RSX or a G35 instead. but my question involves a sound coming from the front of the car. it sounds like something is lose and is shifting around when i go over some pavement. it doesn't happen all the time but when it does i feel it a ton in the steering wheel and i can hear it when the radio is off. does this sound like bad bearings? and if so has anyone replaced the bearings them self? its $299 from the dealer and im thinking about selling the car so that wouldn't be the best investment right now i don't think.

bad bearings would make a humming noise that is speed variable. if you only hear the noise intermittently, and it's more of a clunking or a thud, then it's probably suspension related. it could possibly be your strut mounts, sway bar end links and/or bushings, or less likely your control arm bushings or ball joints.
