Looking for help replacing Tachometer LEDs I have a couple that have gone dark
Has anyone done this before? Is it a matter of accessing them thru the steering console?
Can't find info on removing the gauge cluster

Have you searched for the FSM?

I'm trying to fix the same problem.
I've looked at the manuals but I don't really see a step by step to fix it.

Dealer said I had to replace the whole instrument panel to fix it because the LEDs are all one strand.

They are just SMD LEDs on the dash, which Nissan and other car manufacturers have been using for a long time. It is possible to heat off the old one and solder on a new one--look at some videos on youtube and you'll get an idea what to do. The dealer of course take the shotgun approach and replace the entire unit.

Taking out the gauge cluster is kind of a pain in the butt but it is possible. People on g35 driver and myg37 have done it and shared their experiences.

Personally, if it were under 1K I might consider having them just replace it, but prices are all over the place.
