EsotericImage: Yeah you're right... I forgot the amp wire (which is the whole point of this adapter!)

mkmk: You didn't have to ground the amp (black/white)?

No, I did not.
Do you use Metra or Scosche?

It is plastic Kenwood Oversized Trim Ring for DDX and DNX Double Din that I purchased on eBay for $12. I cut it outsude to fit. Trim holds on unit only, not firm, but can't moved anyway.

Ok, I see. I ended up making my own trim out of wood and wrapped it in vinyl.

It looks to be the pioneer avic f700bt. Nice unit good choice I almost got that one. I have the Pioneer Avic z110bt and love it.

I did mine about a year ago along with a viper security and remote starter. I feel like everyone is doing a tone of work to get their aftermarket headunits to work with the stock bose amp. All I got was a cheap adapter from amazon or ebay and matched the colors from the headunit and the adapters and poof it all worked. The trim piece was a pain though. I used a clear piece of plexiglass and cut to size and painted it with duplicolor black primer and it matches perfectly. I will take pictures and post a little bit later. Let me know if anyone has questions on doing the steering wheel control adapter it is a great feature to have the steering wheel controls with the aftermarket stereo. I recomend the PAC SWI-PS found here http://www.pac-audio.com/swixprogrammin ... amming.asp

Close ... It's actually "No highs, just lows .. must be Bose". Pay close attention to Bose products. They NEVER list their frequency range as they do not want you to know that they "clip" the signal at the high end. This is what the sales peeps call "voice matching". However, they do sound better than built in tv speakers! :naughty:

I have the Avic-710BT installed. I just bought the typical Nissan/Infiniti harness and the antenna adapter. I didn't re-use any of the Bose stuff...I had to wire through every door directly to my amp. I'm currently running 6.5 Reference series MB Quart components in each door.

Hey man, can you please tell me where you got this Square trim from? i really need something like it.

ANd how did you mount your doubledin Kenwood in there? did you just use the original mounting or did you modify a single din mount?

thanx

Hey old thread I know, but was hoping to get a quick question answered. @mkmk, do you know what this port on the back of the OEM unit is:

I had an adapter made for the HU in my '94 j30 that uses this same 8-pin connector and had hoped it would work the same on my 2003 Pathfinder's OEM HU, but after plugging it in i'm getting no results.

Any tips appreciated thanks

I believe that is for the auxiliary connection used by the rear TV option, if so equipped.

I have no rear TV equipped, but there was already something plugged into it. If this is for the rear TV wouldn't it support line-in sound? Perhaps the pin configuration is different than in the j30, thus my adapter won't work.

I'm probably misinterpreting the wiring diagram. Perhaps it is for one of the antennas. You can find a wiring schematic and diagram on page EL-194 of the factory service manual.
