I never had an aftermarket exhaust on the car and was thinking of going the cheap route and getting a used one maybe from someone off here or elsewhere. I know there could always be consequences buying used mods like intake, wheels, springs, etc. But whats there to worry about used exhausts besides dirt and scrapes? Maybe small dents effecting the sound? Though I highly doubt that.

just make sure there aren't any holes in the pipe, other than that I wouldn't worry about anything.

Yea that too. The seller would have to be a major ***hole to sell something like that without notice haha. Theres someone selling their Nismo exhaust here, but I youtubed it and I just wasnt all that crazy about the sound. I need a deep tone sound thats not crazy loud or raspy. I should probably just go with mufflers.

yea idk, if you're only looking for a better sound just go with mufflers. I mean yea the full system gives a better performance but I don't think the AC needs any mod to how it runs. Just my opinion.

As long as the exhaust you are looking into is not damaged in any way like mentioned above with holes and such, there should be no consequences from buying used. Its a huge piece of metal pipe, not much to go wrong there. Inspect the flex sections if it has any, look for gaping holes (lol), and go for it.

Make sure the gaping holes are rust and lubricant free. Those are sure signs of abuse.

i have the tanabe axelback and a racingline y-pipe and i love it. I get the deep tone with a little bit of rasp, but in terms of noise i am still able to drive without drone. Plus the combined price new is still cheaper than the greddy (and it deletes the 3rd cat)!

ah, yeah it is. i'd say go with headers and a magnaflow setup, that always sounds nice and of course the pricing is fantastic

Welp looks like ebay headers are out of the question. Probably a good thing too. Whats the popular, affordable headers to get on these cars?

Nor is the y-pipe for the 3.5s. "For Off-Road Use Only", but I don't think that's stopped many people.
