I'm a certified tech, but body work i know nothing about. I'm looking at purchasing this 95 240sx from New Hampshire..... where they salt their roads. anyways there are bubbles on the paint above the left rear tire on the fender. You can see that there is rust starting, it's not to bad now, only about 6-7 inches in length. How many different fixes are there? Or..... any estimates on how much it would cost from a body shop?

Please email me at [email protected]

Thank you in advance.

I too am not certified in the body industry nor have alot of experiance doing it, but what needs to be done is have the area cut out and replaced or grind all the rust away [which will leave a hole in the metal and fill it in with bondo and refinish it.

Whatever you do make sure that it gets done right.

Last year I paid a guy 100 bucks to fix the rust on both sides of my car under the rear door.

Now the paint doesnt match and the rust is starting again...

I guess it was cheap for a reason.

Yeah i'm familiar with bondo, and it has it's places for touch ups, but with this rust, i think i'm going to let a professional handle this one. Because i'll be returning home to alaska in a month and if it doesn't get fixed it'll only get worse.
