I have a set of Motegi MR15 wheels. I would like them painted gloss black. Is it possible to repaint them and get the same nice finish? How much would it cost to have a shop do it?

Here is what they look like. I think it might be too much work for me!

Most wheel refurbishing places can do it to any color you want..expect 80 to 125 per wheel to get it done right...

I heard powdercoating was another option. Would that chip very easy?

powdercoating is more durable than a painted finish any day. down here it cost about $40 a wheel. if youre on a budget, you can paint them yourself with some good ol' duplicolor from the zone. i paint rims myself all the time, and there is not one thing wrong doing it with duplicolor. just make sure your prep work is up to par, and youll end up with a flawless job.

I read a post on how to prep and paint wheels. It seemed a tad involved. I would be scared to scratch the surface too much when removing the clearcoat and paint.

For someone who is doing it for the first time, how long would it take to paint a 15 spoke wheel?

BTW, thanks to everyone who has replied!
