Repainting Stock Bumper

Hey guys, i need to get my front bumper cover repainted entirely due to peeling of the paint (probably due to a lousy prep job originally). I need it stripped and repainted and am searching for places in San Diego that can do it. I have emailed many different places asking for estimates and I keep getting estimates in the $400-500+ range and a few in the $250 range. A few of the guys said they come to me and complete the job, but I am concerned about the quality I would get from a mobile bumper repair guy. Has anyone ever had a bumper repainted by a mobile guy before???? This sounds like a bad idea to me, but I am not sure. Any thoughts?? also, what is an average cost to repaint a bumper ($400 seems a little high to me....)

Cost is going to vary from place to place, but you might try asking in your regional forum, if you're looking for local recommendations and shops. That way you get more than just the opinions of G-owners.
