Did anyone ever try to repaint their rims... because my rims have this black tar that is solid on the rims... i tried all kind of hard alcohol to remove it but it damaging the rims. I want to use a light sandpaper to take that tar off... and try to repaint the rims. The guy at autozone recommended some paint products... they are cheap though... should i get the supplies from there or someplace else.

Anyway, did anybody ever tried to paint their rims, is it a good idea? Is there a tutorial online to do this? Thanks in advance.

My son had some powder coated. They chipped real easy. I imagine paint would chip REAL easy.

Have you tried WD40? You need a petroleum based product to clean off tar. Alcohol won't cut it.

I wouldn't put too much faith in anything an AZ employee told me. (no offense to anyone that works there). I tried to buy a gasket for my Z28 once and the guy had never heard of a Z28. He thought it was a Chevy truck.

Was your coffee on the roof when you left autozone? if so, smooth driving! My dad once left his cup on the roof. We drove a half hour to the home depot and when we started to tie stuff to the roof, we were surprised to see it there after all that driving... Becki I had a customer tell me there was something wrong with his L45. He ended up having an I30. ? where'd that come from? Anyway, the z28 guy is fun, I bet he knew what an Si was though

I went to look at a 2000 SS Camaro. I opened the hood and the salesman looked at me and said "That's a ZR-1 engine there".

I wanted to say, if you can prove it is....I'll take it. Car salespeople should at least have to know the basics of the vehicles they sell.

Poyz....I try not to go to AZ. I sold to family owned jobbers for 14 years. I know how AZ/Advance and all the chains like that ran them out of business.
