Painted the lettering than sanded the paint off.tenkawa_akito wrote:did they paint the lettering or did they just brush it back down to the aluminum after they finished painting everything.
Another thing I meant to ask last night on AIM, what paint code did they use to match the paint?
any good paint shop can do it cheaper than what the new one costs. JGY customs powder coats them for $80mynismo wrote:how much was it may i ask? you can buy brand new valve covers from phase2 for $175.
Why do you lose the 'bling'??? Powdercoating is very versatile when it comes to the colors and effects that it can produce.score wrote:Powdercoating is probably a better alternative than paint. You may lose the 'bling,' but its worth the durability.
I stand corrected. That looks very "blingy" indeed.cnichols wrote:Why do you lose the 'bling'??? Powdercoating is very versatile when it comes to the colors and effects that it can produce.
I had mine powdercoated with a two coat color that matches my Mediterranean Blue factory paint. It has a base coat and a metallic top coat. It's shiny as paint and I've spilt fuel all over it and you can't tell at all.
How bout mine?score wrote:That looks very "blingy" indeed.
This combo would look best with black lettering IMO. I thought about black, but decided it wouldn't look right with the yellow. I think sanded (aluminum color) letters look best for most valvecover colors.Nicksemianiw wrote:I might do myne white with a CF spark plug cover and either red or black lettering
