My precision grey color is starting to be really boring, doesnt stand out at all, and even with exterior mods it looks bland. originally wanted dark slate, but dealer said that was all they had.

Any idea for how much a full body repaint is?

If i do get my car repainted I def will not get dark slate, that's a waste of money since its a factory color, i'll probably get a custom color maybe from BMW's palette.

Forget about painting your car, it's too much money and problems . Either trade it or try to make it nice looking to you. Here's some ideas. Get yourself some nice white or gold rims and some racing stripes a la dodge viper in a different shade of gray OR black or red. you could even get the black carbon fiber hood they have for our coupes/sedans. With your precision gray there is soo much nice possibilities! You could even get some angel eyes or a black hood overlay to match with the carbon fiber hood or stripes... man sooo much possibilities!!!

Golden rims:

Angel eyes:

Hood overlay:

Carbon fiber hood:

Some dodge viper type stripes:

here in canada I would guess 10000$, but thats a guess. To get a good job they need to take most of the car apart, prep it ect. You wouldnt want your door jams to be grey and then the custom color to be on the outside. My dad does restoration and I wanted to get one of his friends who worked in paint to paint a car for me, at the time I wanted a blue rsx but all I could find was silver. He pretty much said wait to find the color you want, its a lot of work and a lot of money to do the job properly.

I remember thinking about doing this with my old Altima.

There is an inexpensive way and expensive way.

One, they put tape over your stuff (lights, ect) and paint or two, they take your car apart and paint, for a more professional look, as Miss_L said.

Taking things apart allows for them to paint in all the nooks and crannies.

I assume you get what you pay for. I would do serious research and ask for a list of previous clients who have had work done, say 1-3 years out.

lol...typo? 10 grand? To get a nice paint job, with door jams and engine bay painted, it cost around 5grand on average... and give or take 1-2 grand depending on shop adn there quality...

i can see 10 grand if ur doin something crazy like a lepard color changing paint

and painting a car is not worth it, mine as well just trade for a new one, lose 3 grand in the proccess is better tehn paying 5 grand for a paint job and you wont have a car for atleast 2 weeks

My first Altima was PEUTER BLUE. You can tell from just the name, just how nasty that color was. Almost sounds like PUKE BLUE! lol.

I wanted black. The dealer said no black available, here's a little discount. Take your freakn Peuter, bye bye. Next!

I regretted this decision every day, every year, I had the car.

I vowed, NEVER AGAIN!

I have walked out of several dealerships since then that did not have my color and tried to manipulate me into getting another color car. Even with the coupe.

It's hard to clean, it's very hot in the summer, it's the most stolen car sir...

Whatever whatever whatever. I don't care.

Get that black or I won't be back...lol.

However it works out, stick to your guns in the future bro. If they can't get your color, you get to steppn.

I agree with the last caller (smile). Trade that bad boy in and get a better color that works for you.

i agree with you 100%. i've told 4 dealerships the only colors i'm even remotely interested in are black, or white (thanks to windhaven, lol). it also must be manual and MUST have a sunroof. only dark interior is acceptable, unless the interior is leather, then i can compromise. the result? only two dealerships have been able to find the car i want, but neither of them will give me enough for my trade. oh well, i can wait a few months i suppose.

it is TOTALLY worth the wait, to get exactly what you want.

before I said 10 grand I said "I would guess" good paint isn't cheep, labour prep ect...its not a drive through service, a good job takes time and that's the expensive part. Maybe its the shop my dads at... but the resto jobs they're doing are top notch...people are spending 100,000's and thats not too just throw a 5000$ paint job on

I wouldn't have taken it, but the price was too good. I had the premium package on a 3.5 and the sticker price was around 33 g's.

my dad knew the general manager and he said he wouldn't give me any BS, he literally gave me the book that had the lowest price he could take, and offered me a Precision Grey 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 Coupe for 26 g's.

Plus this was all in about 10 minutes, after the test drive. He even threw in 1,000 dollars off for my 96' Toyota Camry (w/ 2,016,000 miles.)

So i took it.

and none of the other dealers I looked at had a dark slate either....

Anyone else out there have Precision Grey coupes with mods? I need some ideas/ inspiration

Personally I ordered the precision grey as I think it is an awesome color...but each to their own. I think that any stock A/C looks a little bland and....well....stock. Obviously it bothers you. The only exterior mod I have undertaken is tinting the side and rear windows and it looks radical! I am waiting for either the Fox Marketing or Stillen bodykit (available Jan 08) and I am also contemplating racing stripes (although I have not seen any pics from anybody that has been brave enough to do this).

Sorry that you are not happy dude....if I were to choose all over again I would still choose the precision grey.
