I have a brand new Tundra for a rental, 5.7, TRD offroad package. turn off traction control which turns on LSD, put it in stick mode, and the thing hauls a$$. Very impressive truck, but expensive, and only 14MPG.
If you really want to have fun with that truck, hold doen the trac button while it is in park. It will disable the trac control, disable the "auto lsd", and disable every other nanny there is. It'll roast the tires with ease then.
I own one, and I get 16-18MPG city and 19 on a straight highway cruise. I've put 25k miles on it and I love it every time I drive it. Tows my cars with ease too.
The coolest rental I've had was a vauxhaul somethin when I was in England. Tiny car and slow, but the pedal/shifter placement was great, it was great on gas (50MPG +), and had great brakes.
